The  Islands in the center of the town provide pleasure to all those who drive by.

In 2022, the Main and Maple islands were awarded the Community Greening award for “Best Street Beautification” for designing, planting and maintaining the traffic islands. This was awarded by the New England Botanic Garden at Tower Hill.

Shrewsbury Garden Club maintains the garden at the side entrance of the town hall which was originally called the “Fragrant garden.” Our club members maintain and continuously improve the garden for the use of the town.

People who pass by this garden are delighted by the plantings and club members have received much appreciated comments on how this has been made a better place.

Every December, our garden club members decorate the Shrewsbury Common.
