2022 Scholarship Recipient

The Shrewsbury Garden Club is happy to announce this year’s Scholarship recipient.

A $1000 scholarship was awarded to Shrewsbury High School graduating Senior Hailey Luke.

An honor student, Hailey has been accepted to many great schools including
UVM, Penn State, Michigan and Perdue. Concerned about rising global
temperatures, rising sea levels, melting ice caps and much more, she will be majoring in
environmental engineering, and she plans on taking classes in climatology, sustainability,
design/construction, and urban planning.
Hailey has also volunteered in many organizations in and out of school. She was involved in the
Helping Hands Club, ELNA, Food and Health Club, Special Peer Connections Club, National Honor
Society, National English Honor Society and National Math Society. She has volunteered at the
Presbyterian Thrift Shop, Andy’s Attic, and Special Olympics. She has also played Girls Varsity
Tennis Team and has been captain the past two seasons.
Hailey states in her essay that she’d “like to spend her time on Earth doing something
worthwhile”. She feels that she can accomplish that goal with the classes she’s going to take so
that she can help preserve the earth for future generations. The Garden Club is proud to help her
reach her goal.
