Each year the Shrewsbury Garden Club offers a scholarship(s) to further the education of Shrewsbury residents in the fields of horticulture, landscaping, environmental studies or related fields.

2021 Scholarship Recipient
The Shrewsbury Garden Club is happy to announce this year’s Scholarship recipients.
A $1000 scholarship was awarded to both Marley Ewick and Hannah Larrabee.
Marley Ewick:Marley is a 2020 graduate from SHS who recently finished her 1st year at the University of Vermont, majoring in Plant Biology. She recently completed a Horticultural course on flowers and foliage and will take an Advanced Course in Plant Systematics in the fall. Marley took a number of Advanced Placements courses at SHS, was a member of the National Honor Society and the Horticulture Club and other academic groups.Marley was busy working jobs in high school including as a waitstaff at Southgate and Armeno Coffee Roasters. She also played high school volleyball and volunteered as a coach with younger volleyball players.
Hannah Larrabee:Hannah is a 2020 graduate of SHS who is matriculating to UMASS Amherst. Hannah has always been interested in the flora and fauna around her. The first AP class that she took at SHS was AP Environmental Science, which inspired her to UMASS to major in the School of Earth and Sustainability and Natural Resources Conservation.Some of Hannah’s after school activities including working as a waitstaff and also housekeeper at Briarwood Continuing Care. She also was a Garden Volunteer at Tower Hill Botanic Garden which included weeding, planting, and maintaining garden beds. She was also in the Young Adult Forester program learning urban tree car and doing projects on public lands.
